The July Chuck It In The Bucket is "Feed the Second Line," a local non-profit agency, It preserves New Orleans culture by creating paid opportunities for Black Masking Indians, Baby Dolls, musicians, and Social Aid & Pleasure Club members to lead events and share their traditions.Through gig work, sponsorship, and material support, they help culture bearers educate, celebrate, and sustain the traditions that make our city unique.

Feed the Second Line provides direct support to culture bearers during challenging times—offering relief when it's needed most. They work with trusted partners to offer access to mental health resources, financial education, wellness support, and vital community resources.

Their safety net also includes disaster preparedness, which equips restaurants with solar powered panels and battery systems to serve as Community Resilience Sites during outages.

By centering culture and community in our response, they're helping make New Orleans more connected, prepared, and a little more sustainable—one neighborhood at a time. For more information, check out their website at https://www.feedthesecondline.org/.
