The April 2026 Chuck it in the Bucket recipient is RIDE New Orleans, an independent advocacy nonprofit organization. They envision a region in which taking transit enables full access to jobs, education, healthcare, and other needs that ensure the equitable thriving community that all residents deserve. Their mission is to win world class and equitable public transportation that works for all across the New Orleans region.
They work closely with RTA on many matters. For example, they collaborated on the Opportunity Pass program with more than 7,000 Orleans Parish youth (16-24) . They provide free, unlimited access to transit.
