Synod Assembly is coming to Baton Rouge!

On May 8-10, Baton Rouge will host the Synod Assembly of the Texas/Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod for the first time, ever. The main site is at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 4728 Constitution Avenue. However, programs have been designed that will get conference participants to LSU’s Rural Life Museum, The Bluebonnet Swamp, Tam Bao Temple, The Islamic Center, and the LSU Campus. We are really going to show off the town, while we provide the 300-plus conference attendees faith building experiences in heart, mind, spirit and strength.

To pull this all off, we will need YOU to volunteer for one or more activities associated with the Assembly. Man a hospitality desk, help with registration, be a second pair of hands at one of the events scattered around Baton Rouge, sing in the choir, usher for worship, stuff goody bags, serve food at the Cajun dancing reception. There is lots of stuff to be done.

We have two volunteer recruitment/training meetings scheduled. The first is March 29 at 10AM at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 3555 Jones Creek Road. The second is April 28 at 7 pm at St. Paul, 2021 Tara Blvd. Both are in Baton Rouge. You can get signed up to volunteer by attending either meeting – or both!

Pick your spot by figuring out a time block you have available – morning, afternoon or evening on any of the three days of the event. Or pick an activity you want to do and we’ll slot you in then.

If you want to volunteer, and you can’t make either meeting, contact Sandie Guthans at sandie@stpaulbr.com or at 225-923-3133.
